Here we go

After spending all morning trying to figure out the settings and the doings of the blogger, here I am trying to be a blogger. I got inspired by many blogs I have visited for he past months some of them are really great and that is why I am here with a blog. I hope is not too boring.

Summer is a very busy time for me. We have a big garden where we plant all sorts of things; we have about 18 rows that are about 70 ft (20 m) long. This year we planted eight tomato plants, (celebrity and Roma for eating), and 72 (one flat) of Moscow for canning (According to Grandma they are the best for canning and they do not need any acid added, like vinegar). We also planted 16 asparagus, they will be ready for next year, we have one row of garlic, one row of onions (red white and yellow) one row of spinach which died, one row of chard, one row of carrots 24 plants of tomatillos for my green salsa, four cucumbers (we started with six). Two rows of peas, 12 plants of squashes (six zucchini plants, three crooknecks or whatever they are called and another kind that is white). Three pumpkin, three cantaloupe, a row of sweet potatoes, one half row of peppers, jalapenos and bell, one nice wonderful patch of strawberries and one more patch of raspberries, I almost forgot three rows of corn. Also we have fruit trees (apples, pears, cherries, apricots, plums, grapes, nectarines and peaches) with all this it is hard to keep up with it but we are trying very hard.

Right now it is strawberry time! Yesterday I got a good bunch to freeze, next week we will start harvesting the peas!
