A new idea

Have you ever wake up in the middle of the night with an idea that does not let you go back to sleep? It happens to me sometimes not very often as I wish, but at least it happens. I came with the idea by my frustration of too much light in the early mornings (which I do not like at all). I had a couple eye masks, but to me they are not big enough (when you can see light through it). So I decided to make me one patchwork style and big and cozy. I was so excited with the first one that I decided o make four more, and this is what I did.
I decided to put them on my Etsy store.

Felix is done!

I finally got into making the scissors case that Lynette post for the Stitcher's Angel Swap. I made two and I change something, Can you tell what is it?

I also decided to make something different to give for my partner besides the stitcheries from the designers and this is just a sneak peek I will reveal when my partner receives her goodies.

Progress

I think I have made some progress today. I clean my sewing space, order some fabric, and finish the apron Jenny taught last Saturday at our church Enrichment day. It is a Lilly apron from here. I love it maybe because is very comfy. When I show it to DH this was our conversation.

DH said: You look pregnant (Big mischievous smile)
Me: No, no pregnant, but you can pretend I am.
DH: No answer back.

QE: No respuesta (desanimo)
Yo: (muy adentro) Ji ji ji.

and here is a little hint of one of my stitcher's angel project: Y aqui una pequena prueba de lo que he hecho para mi stitcher's angel.

Looking around blogland I found this online magazine that is super interesting and most inspiring. It comes every month with lots of articles and free projects I really like the concept, so take a look at what is inspiring people down south.

Grapes someone?

I've been working on my stretcher's angel projects and canning lots of goodies for the winter. Since Saturday we have canned 57 quarts of grape juice, and we might have almost a dozen more; and as you might guess we've been cleaning a lot of grapes. Nothing else to report just that I am tired but at least we will have lots of juice to enjoy!

Old box + Two cute girls = Lots of Fun

Sometimes we spend lots of money buying the "perfect" toy and five minutes later the box turns to be the best toy for them. That is what happened last Christmas. This time as I was cleaning some old canning jars, Alana and Grace got hands on my jars box and start having fun with it.

Sometimes I wonder what the simplest things make the most enjoyable games for kids; like a drum set from your pots and pans.

Preparing for Christmas

While I have been busy botling all sorts of things from the garden. I have made time at nights to do some relaxing stitching for Christmas. I am kind of slow (because I am jost doing them at nights and because I am doing double sets. One for my sister Darlette and the other for me. I still need to finish the whole tag and I will show you later.

Canning Time!

This is the busiest time of the year for me, we are harvesting almost everything we planted and it is lots of work. The reward is to know that my family will eat organic food and made by me.
I've been canning pears, peaches as you know, some tomato prep for all Mexican dishes like red rice, pickles, and green salsa. here some pics:

Canning is not that difficult and a tip for assuring that the bottles are sealed is to put them upside down, right after taking them out of the cannery pot. Let it cool and then you will find all of them sealed!

For now

Happy Canning!
