Totally unrelated 2

Yes again talking about something totally unrelated to crafting but something that is keeping me excited this days. It is about shopping wise, what? yes shopping but in a different way. I am always looking for ways to get more for my bucks and to do so I have try many things. Last April when Monika came to visit I asked her to teach me how to do the coupon-ing she is amazing on that you can visit her blog and see the crazy things she gets for almost nothing.
She gave me a few websites that I found very helpful like this, and this, and this one too. I found that my local news paper has this gal called the savvy shopper and is totally local I love it!. I am learning lots about coupons and the best way to use them. One rule she said is always buy on sale and better if using coupons, never pay full price. I am still working on it but when I see that I save $40 to $80 on my trips I start liking the coupon thing.
Besides coupons which they do not offer much produce options anyway Darlette told me about a co-op program that is getting very popular in the west part of the country called Bountiful Baskets
It is an amazing program basically you pay $15 and they give you $50 worth of produce %50 fruits and %50 vegetables. It is amazing, last Saturday I went to pickup mine and here is the picture of what I got: Fruits: Bananas, apples, strawberries, plums, melon, and grapes.
Vegetables: Chard, lettuce, avocado, tomatoes, onions, and carrots.
All for just $15, all the produce is first grade and wonderful to work with. So this is my totally unrelated post of the day.

Make it a great day!

The girls and I have visit the library and the mall and many other places just non stop. That means is summer! yay!

After so long...

Even though we haven't post lately that does not mean we haven't been doing anything, we have actually working like crazy making things that we cannot show because most of them are gifts and things for our brother's wedding, anyway. Today I got news that Monika received my present (she was out of town for her b-day). Happy to say she like it.
I do not have a picture of the finish runner done because I want a picture from it's new place which Monika promise to send me. but here are some pictures.
I personally love this runner, the colors (orange is my favorite) and most of it the quilting. I love free motion quilting and admire those ones that do a gorgeous job with their machines. As you see on the right side menu I follow Leah's 365 Days of Free Motion Quilting She inspires me. It has taken me a long time to get to this point. Darlette is an architect so she has the talent but, I think she got it all and I have to work hard on my free hand which makes the difference when you quilt and you make perfect circles and straight lines. What I can say is that it requires lots and lots of practice. I got such lots of practice by quilting my brother's quilt which I think I did a decent job. after seen Leah's post today I am even more inspired to keep practicing.

Monika's dining room is decorated with apples and citrus colors so I decided to quilt her some apples too.

Happy quilting

Smart phone/ mp3/ camera case

Darlette made me this case originally intended for a smart phone but for me as an mp3 player case. I just gave her a fat quarter with some beautiful Patty Young's flora&Fauna collection.

Happy Crafting

Testing... testing 1,2,3..

Here I am, done piecing my brother's quilt (did I said the quilt is for my brother that is getting married in August?) Well now you now and for that reason I am not going to show pictures of it until after the big day, sorry. what I can do is show you a little test, practice free motion quilting that I will do on his quilt.

Happy Quilting!
