New Blog

For at least four months I've been having the idea of creating another blog just for food storage and emergency preparedness. Last Wednesday I finally took the decision of doing it. It is a lot of work because it is just in Spanish. The thing is that there are lots of places to get information about the topic but all in English. I wish all the people could get all this wonderful data. then one night I could not sleep thinking about how important this is. Since the health crisis put everybody to the edge of concern.
If you are interested about learning about this topic pop on my blog even though it is all in Spanish I do have a list of blogs and web sites on the side bar that are all in English. The name I choose is "Prepared Families" I hope you can go and check it out.

Por lo menos desde hace cuatro meses he tenido la idea de crear un nuevo blog acerca del preparacion para emergencias y almacen familiar. El Miercoles pasado finalmente tome la desicion de hacerlo. Me esta tomando algo de tiempo pues es todo en Espanol, la cosa es que todos los lugares en donde uno puede obtener informacion estan en Ingles . Desearia que todas las personas pudieran tener esta informacion y bueno desde la crisis con la influenza me he dado cuanta que realmente es necesario hacer mi parte.

A Talented Sister

I want to show you a couple of things that my sister made for my niece's birthday. I know she is too busy to blog about it but I will do it for her.
Quiero mostrarles un par de cosas que hizo mi hermana para el cumpleanos de mi sobrina. Como se que no tiene tiempo para escribir aqui les muestro yo.

Talking Crosstitch

My first exposure to crafts was with My Grandma Gracia (Grace). I spend vacation weeks at her home in the summer time and any other chance my dad could let us stay. Those were the sleep overs I only had. Her influence has stay with me all my life. One summer I was introduced to cross stitch, I made a Cancer zodiac logo on a book marker for my father as his b-day present. It took me forever, but just in time for his b-day.

I have made several things, but I always give them away I just have two projects that I did more than 10 years ago.

Mi primer encuentro con las manualidades fue con mi abue Gracia. Pase muchas semanas de mis vacaciones de verano en su casa y su influencia ha quedado marcada en mi vida. Uno de esos veranos mi abue me enseno a bordar en punto de cruz. Borde un signo de Cancer como separador de libros para el cumpleanos de mi papa. que do lindo por enfrente pero por atraz estaba lleno de bolas de hilo. He hecho varias cosas de punto de cruz pero la mayoria las he regalado; solo tengo dos cosas que les puedo mostrar:

I use it quite often too. Esta linda nina fue el ultimo projecto de punto de cruz que hice hace ya mas de 10 anos . Al principio iba a ser el forro de uno de mis diarios per termino siendo el forro para mi libro de notas de genialogia, tambien lo uso amenudo.And finally this is the new attempt to cross stitch, Yes I signed up for the SAL and I have to say I was out of shape, or I am just too slow? anyway. This is something I can do at nights when my busy angels are asleep.

Finalmente este es mi nuevo projecto de punto de cruz, me apunte al SAl y aqui estoy. Teno que confesar que andaba muy fuera de forma para bordar el punto de cruz o sera que soy muy lenta? en fin Esto es algo que si puedo hacer dirante las noches cuando mis angelitas estan durmiendo.

At last I finished something

Well after so long I can show you what I have finished at last. It seems I have everything on "work in process" state but today I finally finish this little purse I made for myself.

Despues de tanto tiempo tengo alo que he terminado hoy y que puedo mostrar. Tengo tantas cosas que estan "trabajos en progreso" estatus que el terminar algo me hace sentir super bien.

For the zipper I followed this tutorial. Para poner el cierre de la bolsa use este tutorial.What I really like are the details of the different stitches my sewwy makes and now I was able to make. Lo que me gusta mas del diseno es el uso de las diferentes puntadas que use (un buen uso de las tantas puntadas que i maquina tiene)

The inspiration came from here and here. I love Tina's blog! Originally I am making a table runner, Three in fact, and they are all pieced already I just need to quilt them, maybe tonight. The patchwork pattern is a "Disappearing 9 Patch" I found it on this tutorial

La isnpiracion viene de aqui y aqui. Me encanta el blog de Tina! Originalmente estoy haciendo unos cainos de mesa, de hecho son tres. Ya estan unidos solo falta acolcharlos. El patron de patchwork es un Patch de 9 que desaparece y lo encontre aqui.

Just for information I've been working on this since the beginning of December.
Solo por informacion empece a trabajar en esto desde principios de Diciembre.

SAL Tilda Navidad Terminado

Wow, It took me the whole snowy day to finish my Noel Tilda dolls. Vero set it up on four steps or goals, one each Saturday. I have to confess I start it OK my first week but then I could not follow, but today that she post the last step I decided to better finish today and here it is. I have to say that it took me the whole day with its necesary breaks from Alana ,my "Manitas" (bussy hands) a.k.a. Grace and hubby needs) I will guess four hours of straight work. I have to recognize that my bussy "Manitas" just turn 18 months this week What could I spect from this courious little girl?

Bueno me tomo todo el dia terminar mi Tilda de navidad (si consideramos cuantas veces tuve que tomar descansos forzados por que mi Manitas "Grace" me visitaba queriendo ser parte de la costura o Alana necesitando algo o Lee con alguna cosa) en fin lo he terminado y casi puedo decir que el 95% esta cosido no soy fan del pegamento es mas como que no nos llevamos muy bien Ja ja ja. Me encanto como ha quedado ahora espero que mi Manitas Grace no lo encuentre pronto.

PD creo que debo de aclarar que mi Manitas acaba de cumplir 18 meses esta semana pasada, que puedo esperar de una bebe con alto nivel de curiosidad?
