Busy, busy, busy...

Hi I have been really busy since Christmas (is not break for me) I will show you what I did as a Christmas present for my Girls.








And I made this dresses for them

The Great Sumer Holiday Mistery

I decided to make Helen's Mystery quilt and since Gracie Lou's Shoppe had the "garden Fantasy by Jill Kemp" on sale; I decided to make one. I had the fabric ready before she started the instalments but I was busy with other projects. This week I decided to make it and literally I did six instalments in three days!. I had so much fun. we are almost done and I can show you some pictures:

Decidi hacer el projecto de Helen un acolchado misterioso y como la tienda de telas que esta cerca de mi casa decidi hacer el projecto. Tenia la tela ya lista desde antes de que empezara pero yo tenia diferentes projectosque concluir. Esta semana decidi ponerme al corriente he hice seis objetivos en tres dias! Me encanto el projecto pues aprendi muchisimo y nuevas tecnicas pero lo mejor es que Helen es una disenadora tan profesional que nos ha ensenado ha hacer las cosas a la prefeccion y ordenandamente. No me salio super prefecto pero al menos mas del 90% de las uniones coinciden ya me doy por bien servida.

I finally finish one table runner last night and here it is:

I like the contrast of the binding dark with the light fabrics. Me gusta el contraste de la oilla con las telas claras.

Objective #2 Done

Amazing the things you can accomplish when hubby is out of town... LOL, but it is true I have been stitching at night time while waiting for my hubby to call me and I am so amazed how much I have accomplished.

Talking Crosstitch

My first exposure to crafts was with My Grandma Gracia (Grace). I spend vacation weeks at her home in the summer time and any other chance my dad could let us stay. Those were the sleep overs I only had. Her influence has stay with me all my life. One summer I was introduced to cross stitch, I made a Cancer zodiac logo on a book marker for my father as his b-day present. It took me forever, but just in time for his b-day.

I have made several things, but I always give them away I just have two projects that I did more than 10 years ago.

Mi primer encuentro con las manualidades fue con mi abue Gracia. Pase muchas semanas de mis vacaciones de verano en su casa y su influencia ha quedado marcada en mi vida. Uno de esos veranos mi abue me enseno a bordar en punto de cruz. Borde un signo de Cancer como separador de libros para el cumpleanos de mi papa. que do lindo por enfrente pero por atraz estaba lleno de bolas de hilo. He hecho varias cosas de punto de cruz pero la mayoria las he regalado; solo tengo dos cosas que les puedo mostrar:

Este es el forro de mi recetario que uso todos los dias, me encanta el diseno de esta antigua cocina.This girl was the last cross stitch project I did more than 10 years ago, It was indented to be one of my journals but it ended as my notebook for my genealogy research. I use it quite often too. Esta linda nina fue el ultimo projecto de punto de cruz que hice hace ya mas de 10 anos . Al principio iba a ser el forro de uno de mis diarios per termino siendo el forro para mi libro de notas de genialogia, tambien lo uso amenudo.And finally this is the new attempt to cross stitch, Yes I signed up for the SAL and I have to say I was out of shape, or I am just too slow? anyway. This is something I can do at nights when my busy angels are asleep.

Finalmente este es mi nuevo projecto de punto de cruz, me apunte al SAl y aqui estoy. Teno que confesar que andaba muy fuera de forma para bordar el punto de cruz o sera que soy muy lenta? en fin Esto es algo que si puedo hacer dirante las noches cuando mis angelitas estan durmiendo.

At last I finished something

Well after so long I can show you what I have finished at last. It seems I have everything on "work in process" state but today I finally finish this little purse I made for myself.

Despues de tanto tiempo tengo alo que he terminado hoy y que puedo mostrar. Tengo tantas cosas que estan "trabajos en progreso" estatus que el terminar algo me hace sentir super bien.

For the zipper I followed this tutorial. Para poner el cierre de la bolsa use este tutorial.What I really like are the details of the different stitches my sewwy makes and now I was able to make. Lo que me gusta mas del diseno es el uso de las diferentes puntadas que use (un buen uso de las tantas puntadas que i maquina tiene)

The inspiration came from here and here. I love Tina's blog! Originally I am making a table runner, Three in fact, and they are all pieced already I just need to quilt them, maybe tonight. The patchwork pattern is a "Disappearing 9 Patch" I found it on this tutorial

La isnpiracion viene de aqui y aqui. Me encanta el blog de Tina! Originalmente estoy haciendo unos cainos de mesa, de hecho son tres. Ya estan unidos solo falta acolcharlos. El patron de patchwork es un Patch de 9 que desaparece y lo encontre aqui.

Just for information I've been working on this since the beginning of December.
Solo por informacion empece a trabajar en esto desde principios de Diciembre.

I wonder...

I wonder why I cannot finish anything lately. I have a few projects that I am working on and for some reason I just cannot finish them. they are on my sewing table but no time to get around them until...

I got the ANSWER!

Me pregunto... porque no puedo terminar nada estos dias. Tengo algunas en las que estoy trabajando pero por alguna razon simplemente no puedo encontrar el tiempo para terminarlas. tengo mis trabajos en la mesa pero por alguna razon no puedo llegar a ellas.

Hasta que encontre la RESPUESTA!

A few days ago I asked DH to watch the girls while I took a shower. When I got out this is what I found (pictures above). All the detergent out and a little girl playing. She has put detergent on the dryer before, but not like this, it was a MESS.

Hace algunos dia le pedi a mi esposo que cuidara a las ninas en lo que me duchaba, cuando sali me encontre con la sorpresita de arriba. Todo el detergente regado por todos lados y mi manitas Grace jugando con el. Ya un par de veces me habia puesto el detergente en la secadora pero no comoeste desastre.

And days later she saw me doing my makeup, next thing I know I found her like this picture, all pretty with "makeup" from her markers. This is just the things I have caught and have pictures of it but I now know why I cannot get things done around here.

Y dias despues Grace me vio maquillandome y decidio tratar de ponerse ella misma con sus marcadores. Estas son algunas de las cosas que me mantienen lejos de mi maquina de coser almenos son alunas en las que he podido tomar evidencia con mi camara. Almenos ahora ya me di cuanta porque no puedo terminar nada.

Flu :(

Yes, we are al sick with the flu, but not everybody at the same time, it seems that the bug is taking turns with each one of us. The bad news is that there is not rest for me. right now it is Grace's turn, I hope we can get over this. This is me trying to play with the snowblower I almost crash.

Si el flu nos ataco en casa y no a todos al mismo tiempo. Parece que el bicho esta tomando turnos, por ahora es la pobre de Grace la que esta sufriendo y con temperaturas de -17 C ya no se. lo malo par mi esque yo no tengo descanso. la foto es de hace unos dias tratando de jugar con el snowblower que casi salgo yo disparada y no la nieve.

He estado tratando de terminar algunas cosas desde que me inscribi a dos SALs y voy ha hacer el projecto misterioso de Hugs and Kisses. ando recopilando materiales y viendo que tanto puedo usar.

New Year's Resolutions

Here we are at the beginning of a brand new year full of hope and resolutions. This year I want to follow and accomplish many things like:
1. Make my mom's quilt. I don't know if I have said that I offer my mom to make her a quilt when Grace was born (yeah 18 months ago) and the only thing I have done decides buying the fabric and the pattern is to take the fabric out of the bag (that was two months ago). Before you think what's the matter with me let me tell you that she chose a "Grandmother's Fan" design and every quilt shop I go they look at me like "are you crazy?" or they say "It is quite difficult" and I am kind of intimidated about that mostly because it will be a king size quilt. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
2. Quilt my very first quilt. It took me 2 years to piece it and I do not want to take another 2 to quilted (even though I finished last year). so I think I need to started soon. For this quilt I want to hand quilt it. and it is a Queen size.
3. Do more table runners and wall hangers! I just love them.
4. Finally make me some clothes I want ( I have the fabric and the patterns) I just need the time LOL.
5. Eat healthier.
6. Spend more time with my girls.
7. Better organize my sewing area.
8. Learn Photoshop and Illustrator.
9. Go back to my yoga (I haven't done it for so long).
10. Make some Tutorials with my sister and Orginize a SAL.
I probably have more, but for now this is it. I hope you all have a great year

Bueno aqui estamos en el pimer dia del ano, lleno de esperanza y nuevos propositos. Y este ano tengo muchas cosas que quiero completar como las siguientes:

1. Hacer el acolchado para mi mama. No se si les he dicho que le ofreci a mi mama a hacerle un acolchado (Despues de que vio el acolchado que le hice a mi prima Patty para su boda) cuando Grace nacio (hace 18 meses) y lo unico que he hecho aparte de tener la tela y comprar el molde es que solo he sacado la tela de la bolsa. Antes de que piensen mal la razon que tengo es que mi mama escojio uns acolchado llamado "el abanico de la abuela" y segun me han dicho es algo dificil de hacer y pues eo ma ha intimidado un poco; ademas de que va a ser de tamano king. si alguien tiene algunas sugerencias son bien aceptadas : )

2. Acolchar miprimer acolcado que me tomo 2 anos en hacer el patchwork y no quiero que me tome otros dos en acolcharlo (aunque termine el patchwork ya hace un ano) Asi es que debo de empezar pronto. Para este acolchado quiero hacerlo a mano y es un tamano queen.

3. Hacer mas caminos de mesa y mini acolchados me encantan!

4. Hacerme ropa para mi, ya tengo la tela y los patrones solo me falta tiempo he inspiracion.

5. Comer mas saludable.
6. Pasar mas tiempo con mis hijas.
7. Organizar mi area de trabajo mejor.
8. Aprender mejor Photoshop and Illustrator.
9. Retomar mis clases de Yoga que buena falta me hace y que tiene mucho que no hago.
10. hacer algunos tutoriales con mi hermana y organizar un SAL
Probablemente me faltan muchas mas cosas pero por ahora es todo.
