My biggest quilt challenge

Some of you will laugh to know what my biggest quilt challenge is, the truth is that it has taken me 21 months to start it even though I had all the material all this time. Well when Grace was born (June 2007) My parents came to visit and at that time they had seen a quilt I made for my cousin Patty for her wedding. Mom was so thrill that hint me a few times how much she would love to have a quilt. So I did it. I offer mom to make her a quilt for her (king size) bed. I even gave her the chance to choose whichever design she desire. And then it happened! she decided for a Grandmother's Fan.

Long story short, One of my goals for this year is to make the quilt and I have been looking for someone to guide me on how to make it and fortunately my friend Kathy has offer me help and guidance. I visit her so she can quilt my mystery summer quilt from Hugs and kisses. Here are just a couple of pictures of what I am doing.This is the quilt I made for my cousin Patty. Este es el aclchado que le hice a mi prima Patty.

Algunas de ustedes de reiran al saber cual es mi acolchado mas desafiante. La verdad es que me ha tomado 21 meses el empezarloaunque toda la tela la he tenido desde entonces. La historia empieza cuando mis padres me visitaron para cuando nacio Grace y vieron el acolchado que le hice a mi prima Patty para su boda. Mama no dejaba de darme picones diciendo comole gustaria tener un acolchado y finalmente sucumbi y le ofreci hacerle un acolchado para su cama (king) . Cual va siendo mi sorpesa que escojio el abanico de la abuela para mi sin mucha experiencia ha sido un gran desafio.

Para no hacerles el cuento mas largo una de mis metas es hacer este acolchado y he estado pensando en el y viendo quien me puede ayudar guiandome. Resulta que cuando lleve mi projecto de Helen el famoso mystery summer quilt a mi amiga Kathy a acolchar le comente de mi dilema y casualmente ella esta trabajando en uno igual y sa ha ofrecido en ayudarme. asi es que ayer empeze lavando la tela, planchandola y finalmente empeze a cortarla. son 17telas diferentes asi es que no he terminado pero es un buen comiezo. arriba veran las fotos.

A Talented Sister

I want to show you a couple of things that my sister made for my niece's birthday. I know she is too busy to blog about it but I will do it for her.
Quiero mostrarles un par de cosas que hizo mi hermana para el cumpleanos de mi sobrina. Como se que no tiene tiempo para escribir aqui les muestro yo.

Y esto es lo que mi hermana hizo para los ninos de la fiesta de Cosey. Una idea muy buena para mantener a los ninos entretenidos en las reuniones de la Iglesia! El corazon es de una tela especial para escrbir con gis/tisa.

35 Years

Yes, 35 years ago my parents got married, It is amazing to think how time flies, but it is here. I just remember that just 10 years ago my sister and I organized a surprise party for them just before I came to America. I am so proud of them and solid and happy marriage. It hasn't been always easy, but they have overcome together many things that make them strong.

Congratulations Mom and Dad! I love you tons.

Si 35 ya que mis padres se casaron, es increible como pasa el tiempo, pero aqui esta. Recuardo como si ayer fuera hace 10 anos mi hermana y yo les organizamos una fiesta sorpresa justo antes de que yo viniera a Los Estados Unidos. Estoy tan orgullosa de ellos de su ejemplo y de su matrimonio. No siempre ha sido facil pero todos los desafios los han hecho mas fuertes y mas solidos en su matrimonio.

I am back

Finally last Wednesday the girls and I arrived to Salt Lake from our trip to California. Although we enjoy the trip and the visit with Darlette and her family, we are very glad it is over we miss home (mostly our beds) The girls have sleep until late and they are catching up on their schedules. I miss my sister, but I am grateful I could visit her. I have lots of things to share and what a better way than throw pictures!

Finalmente el pasado Miercoles regresamos de California. Aunque disfrutemos de la visita a Darlette y a su familia, estamos felices de regresar a casa pues ya extranabamos sobretodo nuestras camitas. Las ninas han dormido hasta tarde tratando de recuperarse del viaje. Extrano a mi hermanita pero estoy muy agradecida de haberla visitado. Quiero compartir muchas cosas del viaje con ustedes y que mejor que con fotos!

The first set are some of the Girls, you may notice that "manitas" did it again, first you might notice that she has a black eye on most of the pictures. It happened when she found out that the tables on the restaurants are at her precise height, poor thing it looks worst that what it really is. and also with all the other girls potty train, she wanted to do the same, she just forgot that the kids sit wasn't there. It happened two times (I just got one picture though).

El primer grupo de fotos es de las ninas se daran cuenta que mi "manitas" lo hizo otra vez. Primero notaran que tiene un ojo morado en casi todas las fotos pues aprendio que esta en esa edad en que las mesas de los restaurantes estan exactamente a la misma altura que sus ojitos y pobre de mi nina se dio un porraso de aquellos. La otra asana de la pequena Grace fue que como todas las ninas ya estan entrenaditas para ir al bano y ella no pues ella queria ser como todas las demas y desidio tratar por si misma. lo unico que le fallo es que el asiento para ninos no estaba puesto :(

And I tought two were enough...

Hi everyone, I am saying hi form Happy Palo Alto California. Alana, Grace and I flew to San Francisco last Saturday to visit my dear sister Darlette and celebrate Cosey's birthday. As you know she has three little girls Cosey (5 on Saturday) and the Twins, Camilla and Andrea (2 1/2). It has been a blast to be with my sister, eventhough we have a challenge with five little ones under the age of 5. Here is a picture of our little angels at church

Hola a todas, Les digo hola desde Palo Alto California. Alana, Grace y yo volamos a San Francisco el Sabado pasado para visitar a mi hermana Darlette y celebrar el cumpleanos de mi sobrina Cosey. Como saben mi hermana tiene tres ninas Cosey que tendra 5 este sabado, y unas gemelitas (Camilla y Andrea) de 2 1/2 anos. Ha sido super el visitar a Darlette y a su familia aunque con el desafio de atender a 5 ninas de menos de 5 anos de edad Aqui en la foto de arriba la foto de nuestras angelitas en frente de la Capilla el Domingo pasado.
